A CANYON YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS
West Canyon is worth the journey. 7 miles long, located 24 miles from Antelope Point marina, this canyon has much to explore. Filled with offshoots that are too narrow for houseboat, these offshoots are ideal for those exploring by powerboat, waverunner or kayak.
KAYAK, CAMP AND HIKE
West Canyon offers great camping sites at the back. Park your boat, houseboat, kayak or waverunner on the sandy beach and explore one of the best hikes at Lake Powell. The back of the canyon has one of the most scenic slot canyon hiking trails in the entire Colorado Plateau.
The lake levels will determine how far back into the canyon you’ll be able to go. There are times where you will be able to tie your boat along the shore and start the hike. Other times, in instances of shallow water, you will need to tie your boat up a short distance down canyon and jump into the lake to begin the hike which makes for more fun, right?
A GREAT BOATING DESTINATION
Constantly changing from wide to narrow, West Canyon is very beautiful offering many coves and rock walls to admire and explore. Please use caution as there are submerged rocky hazards near the mouth of the canyon.
